The mother of a teen who was convicted of murder back in February is accused of trying to hire a hitman to kill two witnesses in her son's case.
Palm Beach County Sheriff's officials say 43-year old Josefina Cardona-Cardona was talking to someone who turned out to be an undercover law enforcement agent a bout paying them to kill the witnesses.
She was booked on two counts of solicitation to commit murder and is being held without bond. If Cardona-Cardona is convicted, she faces deportation.
Manuel Cardona of Lake Worth Beach was 14 when he stabbed a man to death at a birthday party in 2022. He's serving a 15-year prison sentence.
